Tripo's maker open-sourced EdenLive, a real-time generative renderer that turns 3D blockouts and video into photorealistic or stylized video at 24+ FPS.
What this means for you: This is a free-to-use program that turns a rough 3D layout, game footage, a 2D cartoon or ordinary video into detailed video, either photorealistic or in a stylized look. It runs at 24 or more frames per second at 720p, fast enough to see results live. Open-sourced means the code is public for anyone to download.
Why it matters: It comes after a month of Tripo 3D updates, including Smart UV on Sep 21 and Text to Motion on Oct 3.
How to use it: EdenLive was open-sourced by VAST AI Research. It runs a 5B model (5 billion parameters, a measure of model size) on a single RTX 5090 graphics card.
