  1. New feature

Zed's Delta v0.24 adds syntax highlighting for about 70 languages and file formats, including Elixir, Java, C#, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Kotlin, Dart, Lua and SQL.

What this means for you: Zed's Delta v0.24 colors the code in about 70 more languages and file formats, including Elixir, Java, C#, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Kotlin, Dart, Lua and SQL. Syntax highlighting means different parts of code show in different colors so it is easier to read.

Why it matters: The update responds to a user who asked for Elixir support and called it the last big blocker for their team.

How to use it: It arrives in Delta v0.24. The highlighting comes from language packages in Zed's extension ecosystem.

October 2026

  1. New feature

Zed's Delta v0.22 now lets users run multiple terminals per thread, started with `@!` in a chosen worktree or by recalling an existing session.

What this means for you: In Zed's Delta, a thread is no longer limited to one terminal. You can run several in the same thread.

How to use it: Update to Delta v0.22. Type `@!` to start a new terminal in the worktree you choose, or to recall an existing session.

  2. Launch

Zed launched DeltaDB support for Claude Code, so running `/delta share` lets a teammate join the same thread with full context and uncommitted work.

What this means for you: Two people can now work in the same Claude Code thread. You type `/delta share` and your teammate joins from their own session with your full context and your uncommitted work, meaning changes not yet saved to the shared project history.

How to use it: Run `/delta share` in Claude Code. It is backed by Zed's DeltaDB. Details are at delta.dev/blog/claude-code-multiplayer.

  3. New feature

Zed's Delta v0.21.0 unifies thread colors and tags, so users pick a color and can give its tag a name like Blog or Bug fix.

What this means for you: In Zed's Delta, you now pick a color for a thread, and you can give that color's tag a name such as Blog or Bug fix. This keeps your threads easier to sort and find.

How to use it: The change is in Delta v0.21.0.

  4. New feature

Zed's Delta now supports @mentions, which send the tagged teammate an OS notification and save the mention in their Inbox.

  5. New feature

Zed's Delta v0.18 lets users bookmark threads with cmd-d or ctrl-d and filter the sidebar to show only bookmarked threads.

September 2026

  1. New feature

Zed's Delta v0.17 lets users ask an agent in one thread to start multiple tasks, each in its own top-level thread.

  2. Availability

Zed made Delta available on web and mobile web, running the same native Rust app compiled to WASM.

  3. Launch

Zed released Delta in public beta, a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing their work, available on macOS, Linux, and Windows.
