  1. New model

    Kilo Code added Mistral's open-weights Le Chonk model, which users can now pick in the new Kilo Desktop app.

    What this means for you: Kilo Code, a free coding assistant, now lets you pick Mistral's Le Chonk model in its new Kilo Desktop app. Le Chonk's weights are open, meaning anyone can download and run the model. Mistral describes it as built for coding and cybersecurity work.

    How to use it: Install the Kilo Desktop app from https://kilo.ai/install, then choose Le Chonk from the model list.

  2. New feature

    Kilo Code launched the Kilo MCP, which connects Kilo Desktop, the CLI, VS Code or any agent to the Kilo platform to check spending, edit agent profiles and start cloud agents.

    What this means for you: You can ask your coding agent about your Kilo account from inside your editor. For example, ask what you spent this month, update your agent profiles, or start a cloud agent. MCP is a standard way to connect an AI agent to outside tools and services.

    How to use it: The Kilo MCP connects Kilo Desktop, the CLI, VS Code or any agent to the Kilo platform. Setup takes two steps.
