Opera Neon added WebAI in early preview, browser APIs that let developers build websites and extensions using AI models that run locally on the user's device.
What this means for you: WebAI lets developers build websites and browser extensions that use AI models running on your own device, so your data does not have to be sent to the cloud. You would notice it as sites and extensions that offer AI features without uploading what you type or share.
How to use it: WebAI is in early preview in Opera One and Opera Neon, with Opera GX to follow. It is a set of browser APIs for developers, so there is nothing for most people to switch on yet.
