Game Studio
A whole AI game company in your terminal: a producer, writers, designers, artists, engineers and QA as Claude Code sub-agents.

I built this to run a game studio from the terminal. There's a producer who plans the work and a creative director who guards the vision. A writers' room drafts the story, a narrative lead reviews it, and three story auditors try to break it. Designers, artists, engineers and QA work alongside them.
Every one of them is a Claude Code sub-agent with a job description and a quality bar. They work in parallel off a shared ticket board, review each other's work, and stop at milestone gates for you, the publisher, to approve. It comes with a playable murder mystery you can try right now.
What it does
- Starts a new game from about five questions: premise, kind of game, length, free or pro path, and whether you want to watch.
- Runs the departments in parallel off a shared board, where nobody approves their own work.
- Stops at four gates, from Concept through Vertical slice and Content complete to Polish. Only you can approve one.
- Writes fair, tested murder mysteries from one line, then lints them against nine fairness rules and proves they can be solved.
- Can show the studio floor: one terminal pane per employee, with a live board alongside.
How it works
- The producer plans each cycle, launches the lanes in parallel and routes reviews.
- Tickets on studio/board.json carry an owner, status, dependencies and a reviewer.
- Engineers each work in their own git worktree. QA files bugs back to them.
- The producer writes a STATUS.md standup and prepares a review packet at each gate.
What you need
- Claude Code
- Python 3.9+
- Optional, for the pro path: a Fish Audio key for voice, an LLM key for live suspects, and RunPod for GPU renders
Install it
claude plugin marketplace add per-simmons/claude-game-studio && claude plugin install game-studio@game-studio- Inside a Claude Code session, the same thing is /plugin marketplace add per-simmons/claude-game-studio, then /plugin install game-studio@game-studio.
- To play the example mystery with no install: python3 scripts/casepack/play.py examples/case-packs/dead-air-on-the-meridian
The full instructions, and the skill itself, are on GitHub.
Try asking
- “/game-studio:new a jewel thief on a 1920s airship”
- “/game-studio:case-pack new "a poisoned toast at a 1960s moon-landing party"”
- “/game-studio:floor”
Good to know
- The free path makes 2D art by writing prompts for any image generator you use. Blender scenes and GPU renders are the pro path.
- It never calls a paid API you haven't switched on in studio/studio.config.json.
